Salwan Momika, the Iraqi refugee, staged a protest in front of Baghdad's embassy in Stockholm, during which he visibly disrespected the Islamic holy book and the Iraqi flag.

The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani, voiced his protest against Sweden for allowing Momika to carry out such demonstrations within their territory. In response, he ordered the withdrawal of Iraq's charge d'affaires from Stockholm and also expelled Sweden's ambassador from Iraq.

Supporting the Iraqi government's stance, the KRG's Department of Foreign Relations released a statement, reiterating their strong condemnation of the Quran's desecration in Stockholm. In solidarity with the Iraqi government's actions, the KRG also decided to suspend its mission in Sweden temporarily.

The incident has escalated tensions between Iraq, Sweden, and the Kurdish authorities, reflecting the sensitivity and significance of religious symbols and diplomatic relations. The situation remains under scrutiny as both sides navigate the aftermath of the protests and diplomatic actions. (ILKHA)
