HÜDA PAR: Turkey should not normalize relations with zionist occupation regime

In his weekly press release on external developments, Sağlam has made important statements regarding the ongoing humanitarian plight in Syria, Turkey’s normalization attempts with the zionist regime and Egypt, and Chinese brutalities against Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang.

“Syria has turned into a children's cemetery and the Mediterranean migrant cemetery!”

“UNICEF reported that 12 thousand children were killed and injured during the 10-year civil war in Syria. More than 5,700 children, including 7-year-olds, were actually used in conflicts. 90 percent of the surviving children are deprived of health and education opportunities and in need of humanitarian aid. In the statement, it was stated that the war caused long-term psychological traumas on Syrian children. The experiences so far have shown that the problems cannot be solved by military methods. It is essential to accelerate the negotiation process, to deliver humanitarian aid to children in need, and to implement measures to prevent children from being recruited in armed conflicts,” Sağlam said.

“The United Nations announced that 190 irregular migrants who have been trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea to Europe since the beginning of 2021 have lost their lives,” Sağlam stated and adding that the number of immigrants who lost their lives worldwide reached 446.

“While some of the immigrants who go on a deadly journey due to reasons such as hunger, conflict, and instability in their countries lose their lives, others are exposed to inhumane treatment and violence in the regions they reach. It is a shame that the world remains silent to these tragedies. Concrete steps should be taken urgently to eliminate the reasons causing immigration.”

Turkey’s normalization attempts with Egypt and the zionist regime

“It is worrying that the prime minister of the Zionist occupation gang Netanyahu said they were negotiating with Turkey. As for Turkey's re-establishment of diplomatic relations with the Egyptian junta, it will only make sense if it will be instrumental in ending the oppression and injustice of elected legitimate rulers, anti-coup opponents, and other oppressed people. It should be noted that thousands of unarmed opponents are still being held in Egyptian dungeons. Normalization with Egypt should only be achieved with the precondition that the opposition regains their freedom and their inclusion in the political process without being labeled as terrorism. A rapprochement based on only mutual economic interests of two countries will throw away all the steps taken so far on the basis of justice and humanity and serve as an instrument for the legitimation of military junta.”

Sağlam underlined that even the possibility of ‘normalization’ with the zionist regime, which accelerated its destruction and massacres after starting the "normalization" process with the countries of the region, would not be accepted by Turkey’s people.

Sağlam continued his remarks as follows: “One such step that will sacrifice the Palestinian people to Zionism would be to ‘normalize the occupation’. Turkey should not sacrifice its international interests to its stance, which it has maintained on the basis of humanity and justice until today. It should be an example to other countries in the region with a policy that puts human life before its interests. Cooperation with murderous administrations is to be a partner in massacre and cruelty.”

Chinese brutalities against Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang

Criticizing Turkey’s policy against Chinese brutalities against Uighur Muslims, Sağlam said: “Although China's torture and assimilation policies against Uyghur Muslims have been documented many times, Turkey's "abstention" attitude towards this persecution is not understandable. Finally, the motion proposed by the opposition to investigate the results of inhumane and unscrupulous actions of the Chinese government against the Uyghur people was rejected by the votes of the People's Alliance in the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Chinese brutalities that were recognized as genocide by Canada and the Netherlands are even avoided from being criticized by Turkey.

Sağlam called on the Turkish government not to ignore Chinese brutalities that can be described as crimes against humanity due to its relations with China.

“This policy should be revised and East Turkestan Muslims should not be left alone against China,” Sağlam concluded. (ILKHA)
