Murat Polat, who was sentenced to prison by the judge of FETO for his Islamic identity, was allegedly subjected to unfair practices in the Elazığ Open Penal Execution Prison where he is in.

Murat Polat, who was detained and blacklisted for giving children the Qur'an lessons in Palu province of Elazığ in the year of 1990, and was put in prison after being arrested by the same police officers at the beginning of 2000s in Istanbul, he was released after 2 years then sentenced to imprisonment in the case opened. Polat, who entered the prison again in 2015, is experiencing rights of violations in the Elazığ Open Penal Execution Prison.

Güllüşan Polat, wife of Murat Polat, expressed the violation of rights in prison and requested the Ministry of Justice to resolve the problems.

Emphasizing that her husband is a victim of a FETO judgment, Güllüşan Polat claimed that her husband, who is in Elazığ Open Penal Institution, was consciously persecuted by the prison administration.

"The prison win tenders and this is done by prisoners"

Polat expressed the victimization of her husband as follows: "My husband is not well because of slipped disc, he has a report. The report is with the lawyer. He is going to physiotherapy and should use regular medication and not do heavy work. However, even though the Prison Director Mehmet Akdeniz does know that my husband is uncomfortable -which everyone knows in the prison- still sends him to heavy work. The prison win tenders, and this is done by prisoners. The prison administrator impose this with threats. ‘If you do not, we will keep your record and send you back to closed prison,’ they say.”

“They send my husband to prison instead of hospital”

Despite her husband’s report, Güllüşan Polat explained that her husband was fainted while working at work, continued her words as follows:

“My husband was supposed to be supervised release for a year, but I was told that he will be released in his last 6 months. There are 2 months left to finish these 6 months.” Polat said that her husband was fainted while carrying materials and he wasn’t taken to the hospital, instead he was taken to the prison.

“The doctor writes a prescription and throws it in the face of my husband”

Polat said her husband had been taken to the hospital, he had not been subjected to the necessary intervention in the hospital and that he was subjected to inhuman treatment by a female doctor there. “The female doctor is not interested in the illness of my husband and gave a painkiller after hours. My husband request to talk to the doctor, they didn’t give the name of the doctor.”

"I am calling to the President Erdoğan and all the authorities"

“On July 15th, as we were the most victimized by FETO, went out with all family members to stand against the coup attempt. Today, while we expect the relief of victimization there are persecution to my husband who was jailed with conspiracies. I am calling to President Erdoğan and all the authorities here; I worry about my husband. Those who make these atrocities should pay to account. Who are they encouraged, how are they so comfortable? (ILKHA)
