Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım addressed guests at the Prime Minister's Office in Dolmabahçe, on the occasion of the Opening of the Foundations Week and the International Jerusalem Foundations Forum.

Yıldırım stated that the Islamic civilization has always been shown itself as a city culture in the history and that the cities in the history have been shaped like a mirror of spiritualties of the Islam.

Yıldırım said that the coexistence of the three big religious worship places in Islamic cities emerged as the most natural manifestation of Islam's freedom and humanity understanding. Yıldırım added: "Every group has taken its place in these cities with their foundations while people in Europe are imprisoned in ghettos. Everyone could live their religion, belief, worship and life in Islamic cities. We have such a civilization and we are also responsible for maintaining it in the best possible way.”

"In Jerusalem life is a new fight starts every morning"

Yıldırım added: "When we come to Al-Quds, we are confronted with a very different picture, and the ongoing occupation has a duty and responsibility far beyond the usual services to the Jerusalem foundations. These foundations have also faced the case of shouldering the Palestinian and Jerusalem cause. Jerusalem is now being torn apart by walls, control points from Palestinian brothers. Today, life in Jerusalem is a new struggle that start every morning.”

"These sacred places cannot be left unattended"

Yıldırım said that in the coming days the West Bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem and hence the Harem-i Sharif will experience 50 years of Israeli occupation, Yıldırım continued:

"When we look at the past 50 years, we feel as if we are in the pain of the Palestinian people. Al-Quds which is belong to Islam for 14 centuries, it is never acceptable to be taken from Islam by an occupation that no state in the world accepts, and remove from being a common heritage of mankind. The love of Al-Quds cannot be deleted from minds. This Ummah never forget its first qibla. These sacred places cannot be left unattended.” (ILKHA)
