General Bagheri made these remarks during a meeting with Armen Grigoryan, the Secretary of the National Security Council of Armenia.

In the meeting, General Bagheri highlighted the significance of regional security, stating that developments in the South Caucasus directly impact the safety of the entire region.

He emphasized that the continuation of tension is not in the interest of any country in the region, including Armenia and Azerbaijan, urging measures to resolve disputes and reduce tensions.

Iran's Chief of Staff proposed the dispatch of observers to the borders of Armenia and Azerbaijan, emphasizing that such initiatives should prioritize peace and not have any aggressive intentions behind the improvement of defense capabilities by any country.

"Peace and tranquility in the region are in the interest of all countries, and security in the region must be ensured by the countries of the region, and the presence of extra-regional forces is contrary to the peace of the region," General Bagheri underlined.

Regarding the recent U.S. military exercise in Armenia, General Bagheri expressed concerns, stating that the presence of extra-regional forces could lead to instability in the area.

Armen Grigoryan, in response, presented a comprehensive report on the latest developments in the Caucasus region.

The meeting between the Iranian Chief of Staff and the Armenian National Security Council Secretary signifies ongoing diplomatic efforts to address regional security concerns and foster stability in the Caucasus. (ILKHA)
