US Secretary of State met Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi in Baghdad said in the statement made by Iraq Prime Minister's Office.

In the meeting, Tillerson emphasized the importance of Iraq's unity, loyalty to the constitution and that they support for the dialogue with Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), not conflict.

Abadi also indicated that it was for the "ensure the state sovereignty and control" about those living in Kirkuk and added "We do not want war against any Iraqis component. We have given a message to Kurdish citizens in Kirkuk that the Kurdish citizens are 'precious citizens' of Iraq." (ILKHA)
