It was stated that Ahmet Arslan, who had been taken into custody and tortured for days because of his Islamic identity in a raid on his house in 2001 and who was in prison for years, struggled with serious health problems. The children of Arslan spoke to ILKHA, voiced to President Erdoğan and asked to use his pardoning power for sick prisoners.

According to the health reports of Ahmet Arslan, various illnesses arise in his body after torture he was imposed during in custody, he has a 100 percent blockage in 4 different heart veins besides his sugar and tension sickness.

Arslan, who had a contraction of 50 percent and 60 percent in the other veins, underwent 6 operations and the vein exploded in 2 operations. Ahmet Arslan, who uses 18 different medicines every day, may pass a heart attack at any time according to the statements of his doctors.

Gıyasettin Arslan, who reacted to his father being kept in prison despite all these diseases, told about the troubles his father had suffered.

Arslan said that doctors said that there is nothing left for medically for his father and that they can only reduce their pain as a treatment.

Criticizing the fact that there still has not taken a step despite his father’s illness, Arslan said, "We have known the President with the pardoning power. The past presidents have released the people who have their own ideas. But neither Abdullah Gül nor Recep Tayyip Erdoğan did not use such a right for the sick and old prisoners and our father is being abandoned to death blatantly.”

Abdulkadir Arslan, the other son of the arrested Ahmet Arslan, stated that the President should use pardoning power for the sick and old prisoners at once, and said, "Will the president use his pardoning power after our father die?"

Arslan said those who have their names on the agenda are going to be released, this is not justice, but discrimination and added, "My father, who is now in prison, uses 18 medications a day and one of them is blood thinner because his veins are clogged and blocked. We know well that our father needs angiography, but now is only using blood thinning medicine. In the past 4 months, stains have been spotted my father's stomach. And new medicines are added to his medicines. We want the Ministry of Health for all sick prisoners, not just for my father; a conscientious delegation to be formed, the health of all sick prisoners need to be investigated, and those who cannot see their own needs can complete their sentences in their homes."

Ahmet Arslan's youngest son Halil Ä°brahim Arslan reacted to his father's capturing in prison only because of his belief in Islam at a time when the inmates of the Ergenekon case were being evicted.

"Take a look at the file of those convicted of their faith"

Reminding that the Ergenekon suspects were released and paid compensation, Arslan said, "I would say for all Yusufies, not only my father, but please look again at the file of those convicted because of their belief, I do not say evacuate them, just look at them again, ask yourself why are keeping those people in jail."

Arslan reacted to the President while he has pardoning power but not using for pious people prisoners and said, "Ahmet Necdet Sezer has released an amnesty for leftist prisoners and has evacuated some 200 prisoners. The current President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan does not use this right, why they don’t see these atrocities on those prisoners who are sick in jail and capturing in prison for the sake of their beliefs.
