Employment index in Türkiye rises by 3.3% annually

Employment index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 3.3% in the second quarter of 2023 compared with the same quarter of the previous year, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement.

When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 0.9%, construction sector increased by 10.2% and trade-services sector increased by 3.5%.

Hours worked index increased by 1.3% annually

Hours worked index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 1.3% in the second quarter of 2023 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector decreased by 0.7%, construction sector increased by 8% and trade-services sector increased by 1.3%.

Gross wages-salaries index increased by 111.1% annually

Gross wages-salaries index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 111.1% in the second quarter of 2023 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 104.3%, construction sector increased by 126.1% and trade-services sector increased by 114.2%.

Employment index decreased by 0.1% in the second quarter of 2023 compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector decreased by 0.9%, construction sector increased by 0.3% and trade-services sector increased by 0.4%.

Gross wages-salaries index increased by 12.8% quarterly

Gross wages-salaries index increased by 12.8% in the second quarter of 2023 compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 12.3%, construction sector increased by 11.3% and trade-services sector increased by 13.3%.

Hourly labour cost index increased by 113.7% annually

Hourly labour cost index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 113.7% in the second quarter of 2023 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 111.8%, construction sector increased by 111.7% and trade-services sector increased by 116.6%.

Hourly earnings index increased by 108.3% annually

Hourly earnings index including industry, construction, trade-services sectors increased by 108.3% in the second quarter of 2023 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 105.6%, construction sector increased by 109.4% and trade-services sector increased by 111.4%.

Hourly labour cost excluding earnings index increased by 144.4% annually

Hourly labour cost excluding earnings index including industry, construction, trade and services sectors increased by 144.4% in the second quarter of 2023 compared with the same quarter of the previous year. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 147.2%, construction sector increased by 124% and trade-services sector increased by 146.7%.

Hourly labour cost index increased by 10.7% in the second quarter of 2023 compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 9.8%, construction sector increased by 10.2% and trade-services sector increased by 11.6%.

Hourly earnings index increased by 12.9% in the second quarter of 2023 compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector increased by 13.2%, construction sector increased by 10.8% and trade-services sector increased by 13.1%.

Hourly labour cost excluding earnings index increased by 1.6% in the second quarter of 2023 compared with the previous quarter. When sub-sectors are examined; industrial sector decreased by 2.7%, construction sector increased by 7.3% and trade-services sector increased by 4.7%. (ILKHA)
