UN condemns missile attack on Kurdish capital
The United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) has condemned the missile attack targeting the United States consulate building earlier on Sunday.

“UNAMI strongly condemns heinous missile attacks on Erbil. Iraqis are called upon to stand together in the face of any act that violates Iraq’s sovereignty/territorial integrity,and/or aims to undermine stability/unity. Perpetrators of this cowardly attack must be held to account,” UNAMI said on Twitter.

Earlier on Sunday, twelve ballistic missiles launched from Iran targeted a new US consulate under construction in Erbil, northern Iraq.
The consulate was not hit and no US personnel were hurt, US officials said. (ILKHA)
