The release of CHP deputy Enis Berberoğlu, who was sentenced to 25-years imprisonment by Istanbul 14th High Criminal Court, has brought the "superior law and justice according to person" question to minds.

The 2nd Penal Chamber of the Istanbul Regional Court of Justice has abolished this decision on Berberoğlu and ordered Berberoğlu to be sentenced to 5 years and 10 months in prison.

The 16th Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Appeals upheld Berberoğlu's sentence a few days ago and decided to suspend the execution of his sentence until his term as a deputy was over and released him.

An evaluation came from the Minister of Justice Abdulhamit Gül. Pointing to the Supreme Court's reasoned decision about the CHP Istanbul deputy Enis Berberoğlu, Gül said, "The Turkish judiciary makes an independent decision. Of course, the reasoned decision will be seen. Therefore, this issue and the decision-maker is the Turkish judiciary."

Parliament Speaker Binali Yıldırım phoned Enis Berberoğlu's wife and expressed his pleasure on the release of eviction decision.

After these developments, a rightful question came to the public.

"Why those who are severely penalized by the accusations such as threatening the security of the state, being sentenced to aggravation, then their punishment minimized and finally being released when those who are victimized by the FETÖ and February 28 judiciaries are still not released."

Relatives of the victims made campaigns to release unjust and unlawful convicts over a long period of time, formed social sensitivity, but these demands have not been seen so far. (ILKHA)
