Islamic Resistance Movement in Palestine, Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasem stated that Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas expressed his insistence to get out of the Palestinian national cause with accepting the confederation proposal in the meeting with the zionist delegation and on promising to protect the security coordination.

"Such statements prove that Abbas had challenged all decisions made in Palestinian National Council meeting," Qasem continued.

Qasem explained that Abbas' interest in a tripartite confederation helps the zionist occupation to integrate into the region and prompts the U.S. administration to implement its plans aiming at liquidating the Palestinian cause, taking the Jerusalem issue off the table, and abolishing the Palestinians' right to return to their homeland.

Mahmoud Abbas: I accepted the change of land

Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas has voiced interest in an offer by the US administration to create a Palestinian-Jordanian confederation.

During a meeting with a zionist delegation that visited Ramallah on Sunday, Abbas said that senior US administration officials Jared Kushner and Jason Greenblatt asked him recently about his opinion of a "confederation with Jordan".

"I said yes to the offer, but I want a three-way confederation with Jordan and zionists," Abbas said.

Abbas said that he hardly ever communicates with zionist's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu but pointed out, "I meet with the head of zionist's intelligence service every month, and I ordered the PA security services to hold daily meetings with the zionist army to enhance security coordination."

The PA president also revealed about the meetings he attends with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) despite the declared halt of relations between the US administration and the PA.

Abbas, during his meeting with the zionist delegation, reiterated his commitment to the two-state solution and a peace agreement within the 1967 borders that includes a territorial exchange.

Since US president Donald Trump took office, he has made a number of major decisions that are aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause, the first of which was recognizing Jerusalem as zionist's capital and suspending funds to UNRWA. (ILKHA)
