One day before the July 15 coup attempt in Mardin, Enver Ölçer, 24, who went to the emergency department of Kızıltepe State Hospital due to a flu illness, was injected by an intern nurse.

Stating that the needle coincided with the nervous vein, Ölçer argued that his right foot became physically disabled for this reason and his life was blackened at the young age.

Ölçer, who said he lost weight from 62 to 49 and could not sleep for days, said that he was told in Istanbul Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty where he was treated for one and a half months, “There is a loss of 85 percent on your foot.”

Ölçer said, “I've got the flu one day before the coup attempt. I went to the hospital, after examination I was sent to the nurse for injection. I screamed when I was injected and the nurse ridiculed on me. After leaving drug into my leg I could not resist anymore, I pulled my legs. I no longer feel my feet I was not able to tell that such a pain had entered my leg. The nurse had injected me at 21:30 in the evening and after that I had to wait 15-20 minutes. Then I went to the doctor and when the doctor understood the gravity of the work, he called the specialist doctor and when the specialist came he said 'The needle came into the nerve.' I was placed under observation until the morning, then I have lost my leg.”

“They darkened my life in my youth age”

After he left the hospital, he went to the Chief Prosecutor's Office of Kızıltepe and expressed his testimony, Ölçer said: “I will give up following this issue. I have a lawyer, I go to the prosecutor's office and gave my testimony. The court process continues, I will continue my case in the law in this world. I feel like a half man because I cannot do any work.”

“Is human life so cheap?”

Mehmet Salih Ölçer, 62, father of the victim stated that after what happened to his son, they will not give up on the case and said, “My son went to the hospital and they left him disabled in the hospital. After the event, nobody in the hospital took care of us. We want them to be punished those who did this to my son. They darkened my son's life. Is human life so cheap?
