70 hafiz completed their education successfully in Fatih Quran courses affiliated to Gaziantep Şahinbey District Mufti office and received their diploma with a ceremony.

Speaking at a ceremony where people of Gaziantep showed an intense interest, Ahmet Çelik, the Provincial Mufti, said that reading the Qur'an and being hafiz is not being a profession and not a career.

“Serving the Qur'an is the work of every Muslim”

Speaking in the program, Gaziantep Provincial Mufti Ahmet Çelik emphasized that reading the Qur'an and being hafiz are not a profession and that it is the job of every Muslim to serve the Qur'an.

Stressing that the knowledge of the Qur'an is the duty of every believer to work for the achievement to spread of all, Çelik said, “Our book is the Qur'an. Whichever profession we are. Reading the Qur'an or memorizing the Quran is not a profession. Serving the Qur'an is not a profession. We must fulfill the moral code, treatment and other rules that the Qur'an brings to us. Serving the Qur'an is the work of every Muslim. Whatever our mission is. We all need to serve the Qur'an as a Muslim. It is the duty of every believer to know the Qur'an and work for the knowledge of Quran to reach out of everyone”

“Today our biggest annoyance is ‘why do our children and our young people not grow up with Islamic personality, identity?’ If there is no knowledge of anything, it will not be its identity. If the knowledge something is not given, then there is not its idea too. This is the hardship we face today in our country and in the Islamic world. If we are referring to the Qur'anic morality, we need to acquire knowledge of the Qur'an. We need to understand it and learn it.
