Asst. Assoc. Dr. Ibrahim Kaplan made a presentation about the concept of “Abrahamic Religions” in the “Symposium of the Middle East, cradle of civilization and Şanlıurfa”  held in Şanlıurfa. Assoc. Dr. Ibrahim Kaplan emphasized that the concept of Abrahamic religions is wrong in terms of Islam.

Ibrahim Kaplan stated that someone says ‘we have common point with people of the book in Amentu’ from the point of view of Ayah in Quran which mention highly of people of book, and this judge is definitely wrong according to the Qur'an.

Kaplan states that all religions that have emerged as the only means of salvation have extinguished all previous religious systems before, “Therefore, every religion must necessarily take into account the others in one way.”

“The concept of Interfaith Dialogue has caused quite a bit of trouble”

Noting that Islam did not find the concept of “Interreligious Dialogue” correct, Kaplan said:

“Because Islam is the last religion of mankind and makes it the target of becoming a religion of all mankind within the framework of its understanding, it is also seen in the jewish and Christian relativistic theological relations because of the divine religion. I want to draw attention to something here. Especially I want to use the concept of theological religions, because the concept of ‘Interfaith Dialogue’ has caused quite a lot of trouble and used for different purposes in a process that started 10-15 years ago or even earlier. My study of my doctorate was in this sense early in the Muslim and Christian theological associations; I would like to use this definition, especially this phrase. I prefer; Not a dialogue between religions, but a form of theological relations.”

“Abraham Prophet had objected to the society based on polytheism and kufr”

Kaplan said that the Qur'an describing the view of Abraham, said, “Abraham is one of the most holy prophets mentioned in the Qur'an. He is one of the prophets of the Qur'an, whom Allah has exalted, who is described as the friend of Allah. He is very innocent, soft-tempered, hospitable and straightforward who has devoted himself to Allah. He is a prophet who has done his duty fully and is given suhuf [divine papers]. Who has struggled through life for the monotheistic belief that he found by researching. Abraham objected to the structure of the society on the basis of polytheism and the fact that he even contradicted his father. As a result, to be destroyed, he was thrown into the fire.” (Osman Gülebak, Hüseyin Sayhar - ILKHA)
