The Human Rights Society, headquartered in Diyarbakir, organized a press statement on March 8, World Women's Day. Women members of the society participated in the press statement organized in association building.

The President of the Commission on the Rights of Women of Human Rights Society Hatice Kübra Özoruç, who read the press statement, paid attention to the fact that women’s day is being removed from its real meaning.

Özoruç said, “The fact that women's rights violations have not come to an end since 1910, and even continuity in different shapes and sizes, has been replaced by women's day, the meaning of which is disconnected from the reality of life, only a day of servitude for capitalist ambition and interests. Dominant powers, oppressors and capitalists have never stepped back of using women for their interests. In fact, women have been trampled and exploited more intensively by their fellow women, because of their ideas, beliefs and lifestyles that are a reflection of it.”

“The woman was victimized by those who expressed the slogans of equality for women”

"Women have been transformed into sexual commodities, especially on television screens and in the advertising sector, and historical misconceptions have continued to change form. Unfortunately, this is a symbolic day when March 8 was a day of symbolic celebration," said Özoruç, who stated that women were victimized by those who express of equality slogans.

In order for violations to end, women should be treated as mothers, spouses and stakeholders, not as commodities”

Özoruç explained, “The girls, who are working at the benches for the minimum wage and working twelve hours a day, are sentenced to a minimum wage slavery and deprivation of social security on the fields, young girls who are not taken to their schools because of their beliefs and headscarf. Again for the same reason, women who are not taken into military ceremonies of their sons, women who are under the name of equality, who are employed in fields that are against the nature and who are subjected to all kinds of abuse, women who are exposed to violation are usually citizens of countries those celebrating March 8 women’s day. In order for the violations to end, the woman should be regarded not as a commodity but as a mother, a spouse and a stakeholder.”

Özoruç emphasized that written, verbal and visual media should give up all kinds of humiliating publications of honor and chastity of women and should not exhibit in the series and movies advertisements of the woman who is the cornerstone of society and society with honor and chastity. Unfair compensation for equal work should not be compromised, and heavy financial penalties should be imposed on the basis of economic violence which is also applied to private sector organizations exploiting women's labor, and a unit should be formed to prosecute it.

Özoruç pointed out that there are a number of discourses, equality and freedom for women, legal regulations, special days devoted to them, and that women cannot end violations of rights, until this day, "But violations have begun to be processed more and more foolishly. And everywhere emphasizes the necessity of justice and it is hoped that not only one day but 365 days will be spent with this consciousness. Because the violation of women's rights means the violation of human rights and the violation of human rights is a social fate news. Like Hasan al-Benna said, ‘Half of the ummah consists of women, the other half is raised by women’. In that case, we want justice for the woman for today and tomorrow of mankind.” (M.
