In "Snowden" movie which came out on January 6th, it was revealed how the Americans could access e-mail, social media accounts, cell phone messages, hard drives and credit card statements under the name "security".

Based on the books of journalist Luke Harding's The Snowden Files and Anatoly Kucherena's Time of the Octopus, the film portrays Edward Joseph Snowden, a US computer expert, former Central Intelligence Agency and former National Security Agency employee.

The scenario written by Kieran Fitzgerald and Oliver Stone received screenings from Snowden's screenwriting books written by Luke Harling and Anatoly Kucherena. During the movie shooting, director Oliver Stone visited Edward Snowden several times in Moscow, where he had the opportunity to get first-hand information about his experiences.

Snowden, a computer programmer who reveals that he is listening and watching US citizens without any court order, was declared a "traitor" after he announced to the world in June 2013 that the US government had legalized all this "monitoring" process under secret law. (ILKHA)
