Hundreds of children falling behind of education because of mud

Konuklu neighborhood in Halileye district that came on agenda recently with the problems of sewerage system which just don’t get finished, roads and water, became a suffering road within raining and mud puddles.

It is seen that dress of most of students get dirties due to mud which it is hard for them to walk in that mud.

Schools managers warning students because of dirtiness of their dresses that made some students to find their own solution which they have wore nylon bag on their shoes.

Some of parents didn’t send their children to schools and addressed municipality officials to find a solution for these problems right away.

Ibrahim Kaçar, a resident of that region, uttered that they have went to the municipality and met with municipality officials but the municipality is still unaware of solving the problems, alongside with road and mud problems, they also have water problem too.

Emine Korkut, a student said that they have to go to school despite all hitches. Remarked that officials need to make this road in order to not falling behind from education.

Ibrahim Ekin, father of a student also uttered his reaction and said, “They have constructed a school but half of students can’t go to school because they didn’t construct the road of this school. I didn’t sent my children to school because of mud. I myself forwarded this problem to officials but we didn’t get any return. Approximately we have a thousand students but if the condition continue like this then no one will send their children to school.”

Hıdır Çavuşoğlu also remarked that their road has been rough for 3 years which causing students not go to schools and damaging cars, asked for the problem to be resolved right away.

Abdurrahman Ekin, another resident in that region said that they have superstructure and substructure for years and added, “We have rough roads, the price of my car is about 80 thousand Turkish liras [$25.000] and I have sent it to Gaziantep with tow truck. That means there is no road, there is no substructure. They come and measures the road then mayors get on TVs and say they will make double roads. I brought my child on my back to the school in order to not falling behind from education.” (ILKHA)
