The building which constructed on a land in Baglar district with own means of families who were victimized in Diyarbakir Sur, has been demolished by municipality with the excuse of not having construction permit.

Mahmut Altas who were reacting to demolish decision, asserted that the building has been demolished because they didn’t give bribery.

Altas said that the building which they constructed with their own resources has seen grudge, indicated that the court has stopped the demolish decision but the municipality hasn’t observed to court’s order.

They asked money not in return any document

Altas defended that they are victims of Sur and the municipality has exploited us, “We are victims. Our houses were in Fiskaya. The municipality has exploited us for years by giving us stones and molotov bombs and saying ‘Throw them to the police’. Now they took police officers with themselves and brought them here. The municipality asked for bribery and we didn’t give, that’s why they demolish here. We are victims; we have sold everything we had just to own a house. And now they prevented it. They asked money from us by saying ’Kandil has run out of bombs and bullets’. They asked money not in return any document. We didn’t give the money just to be a cause of the kill anyone.”  (ILKHA)
