2 killed, 5 injured in attack on Istanbul courthouse
Two people were killed and five others injured in an attack on an Istanbul courthouse on Tuesday, according to Türkiye's interior minister.
The attack, which targeted a police checkpoint outside the courthouse, was carried out by two individuals identified as members of the DHKP/C terrorist organization. Both attackers were neutralized by security forces.
"It has been determined that the traitors identified as E.Y. and P.B. were members of the DHKP/C terrorist organization," Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya wrote in a statement. "While the terrorists involved in the attack were neutralized, 6 people were injured, including 3 police officers and 3 citizens. I wish a speedy recovery to the injured."
The injured individuals are receiving medical attention, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing. (ILKHA)
