This event was more than just a protest against israeli attacks; it was a passionate expression of unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.

The demonstration, which drew participants from a wide array of backgrounds including representatives from civil society organizations, political parties, and local citizens, began with a heartfelt funeral prayer offered in memory of those who have lost their lives in Palestine. This solemn service took place after the Friday prayer at the Eyyüp Prophet Mosque.

Following the prayer, the massive crowd embarked on a march, raising their voices with resounding slogans and takbirs such as "Down with Israel" and "Salute to Hamas, continue the resistance."

The demonstration was marked by a display of unity, with participants from all walks of life, young and old, condemning the Israeli government and expressing their support for the Palestinian cause.

During a press statement made at the gathering, Behçet Atila, the head of IHH Şanlurfa Branch, highlighted the historical context of the Palestinian struggle.

He underlined the disunity that befell the Muslim world following World War I and how the Palestinian lands, which had once been a haven for people of diverse religions and backgrounds under Islamic rule, were given to Jewish settlers.

Atila also emphasized the zionists, who established Israel in 1948 and, with the backing of Western colonial powers, continued their campaign of deportation, extortion, massacre, and genocide against the people of Gaza. This has led to the prolonged siege and intense boycott of Gaza, effectively transforming it into an open-air prison.

"We stand here today, united against the oppression and violence faced by our Palestinian brothers and sisters. We condemn the brutal actions of the Israeli regime and show our unwavering support for the Palestinian cause,” Atila emphasized.

Furthermore, Atila pointed out the ultimate goal of Zionism, which seeks to establish a "Greater Israel" encompassing the region between the Nile and the Euphrates rivers. He asserted that the Zionist terrorist state aims to subjugate all of humanity and views the Jewish nation as an elite race.

"The cause of Palestine is not limited to one region; it is the concern of all humanity. We call for immediate and tangible actions to stop the atrocities in Gaza and support our Palestinian brothers and sisters,” Atila noted.

In conclusion, Atila passionately emphasized the importance of supporting the Palestinian cause, which he described as not only the concern of Arabs but also a global humanitarian issue.

He called for concrete actions to stand with the oppressed Palestinians and fight against the Zionist terrorist state, which has committed numerous war crimes in Gaza.

He declared: "We believe that condemning, cursing, declaring mourning is not enough, it is time to take more concrete steps."

The demonstration in Şanlıurfa served as a strong message of solidarity with the Palestinian people and a call for meaningful measures to address the ongoing conflict. (ILKHA)
