Türkiye's house sales decline by 9.5% year-on-year

İstanbul led the way with the highest share, accounting for 14.9% of total sales at 15,247. Following İstanbul, Ankara recorded 9,048 house sales, while İzmir saw 5,476 house sales with shares of 8.8% and 5.3%, respectively. The provinces with the lowest sales were Ardahan with 47, Hakkari with 55, and Bayburt with 77 house sales.

House Sales Decline by 14.9% in January-September

During the period of January to September, house sales decreased by 14.9% in comparison to the same period in the previous year, amounting to 900,074.

Mortgaged House Sales Decrease by 50.2%

Mortgaged house sales in Türkiye saw a 50.2% decrease in September, compared to the same month the previous year, totaling 8,446. Mortgaged house sales represented 8.2% of all house sales. Over the course of January to September, mortgaged house sales dropped by 29.6%, reaching 160,884.

First-Time House Sales Decline by 15.2%

First-time house sales decreased by 15.2% in September year-on-year, totaling 30,488. First sales accounted for 29.7% of all house sales. In the January to September period, first-time house sales declined by 13.9%, reaching 268,597.

Second-Hand House Sales Decline by 6.8%

In September, second-hand house sales experienced a 6.8% decrease year-on-year, reaching 72,168. Second-hand sales represented 70.3% of all house sales. Over the January to September period, second-hand house sales dropped by 15.2%, totaling 631,477.

House Sales to Foreigners Decrease by 42.0%

House sales to foreigners experienced a 42.0% decline in September year-on-year, totaling 2,930. These sales represented 2.9% of all house sales in September, with Antalya taking the lead at 1,007 sales to foreigners. Antalya was followed by İstanbul with 978 house sales and Mersin with 211 sales to foreigners.

In the January to September period, house sales to foreigners decreased by 43.5%, totaling 28,064.

House Sales Predominantly Made to Russian Citizens

During September, Russian citizens purchased 722 houses in Türkiye, followed by Iranian citizens with 327 house sales, Iraq citizens with 191, and German citizens with 148. (ILKHA)
