Palestinian resistance fighters initiated rocket and mortar attacks from Gaza, prompting alarm sirens in cities such as Ashdod, Ashkelon, Beersheba, Tel Aviv, and Jerusalem—locations considerably distant from Gaza. The Iron Dome air defense system intercepted some of the incoming rockets, resulting in visible explosions in the sky.

During the operation, Palestinian fighters successfully entered and captured police stations in occupied settlements. They seized numerous military vehicles and took Israeli soldiers captive. The images circulated on social media, portraying the panic of occupiers attempting to leave Palestine. Additionally, Palestinian resistance fighters were observed patrolling areas around Gaza.

Commander Muhammad al-Deif of the Izzedine al-Qassam Brigades addressed the attack in a video, revealing that approximately 5,000 rockets and mortars were launched in the first phase of "Aqsa Flood." He emphasized the termination of security coordination with Israel.

In response to the operation, the Israeli occupation regime announced airstrikes on Gaza, employing dozens of warplanes. The Minister of Defense, Yoav Gallant, issued a decree for reservists to be called to duty and declared an 80-kilometer military zone around Gaza. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu convened a security cabinet meeting.

Furthermore, Hamas successfully captured the Kerem Abu Salim Border Crossing and adjacent military points previously held by the occupation regime on Gaza's southeastern border. The border crossings were subsequently closed, and marches in support of the resistance commenced in Ramallah city.
