His arrival at John F. Kennedy International Airport was marked by a warm welcome from Türkiye's UN envoy Sedat Onal, Ambassador to the United States Hasan Murat Mercan, and New York Consul General Reyhan Ozgur.

Accompanying President Erdogan on this diplomatic mission are First Lady Emine Erdogan, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek, Energy Minister Alpaslan Bayraktar, Trade Minister Omer Bolat, and the Head of National Intelligence Agency, Ibrahim Kalin, among other notable officials.

Erdogan is scheduled to take the General Assembly's stage on Tuesday to deliver his address. During his speech, he is expected to shed light on Türkiye's multifaceted efforts, ranging from development initiatives to humanitarian aid. He will also emphasize the nation's significant contributions to global peace and security, all while striving to foster international solidarity.

"We will also highlight the critical role Türkiye plays in the face of current global challenges," Erdogan remarked in a statement to reporters before departing Istanbul.

In the sidelines of the General Assembly, Erdogan is set to engage in crucial meetings with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and counterparts from various nations.

Adding to his agenda, President Erdogan will convene with members of the Turkish-American community and affiliated groups. He will also engage in constructive dialogues with representatives of research organizations and prominent American business leaders.

This year's UN General Assembly debate is poised to be a monumental event, boasting the presence of over 150 heads of state and government. Erdogan's packed schedule will keep him occupied until Wednesday as he participates in discussions that could shape the course of global affairs. (ILKHA)
