Iran, Pakistan stress need for regional cooperation to resolve Afghanistan's challenges
Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Pakistan's Prime Minister's Special Envoy for Afghanistan Asif Ali Khan Durrani met in Tehran on Tuesday to discuss ways to resolve the challenges facing Afghanistan.
Amir-Abdollahian stressed the need for regional cooperation to help Afghanistan overcome its security and economic problems. He said that Iran and Pakistan can play a key role in this regard.
Durrani, for his part, said that Pakistan is committed to working with Iran to help bring peace and stability to Afghanistan. He also presented an assessment of Afghanistan's political and security conditions.
The two sides agreed to continue their consultations and cooperation on Afghanistan. (ILKHA)
