The start of the 2023-2024 academic year brings with it significant changes, including the reintroduction of grade retention in high schools and the initiation of education in earthquake-affected regions.

Preparations for student safety have been diligently undertaken, and the orientation week has been successfully completed, paving the way for the first bell to ring in primary and secondary education institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Education (MEB).

Approximately 20 million students, alongside 1.2 million teachers in MEB-affiliated institutions, are eagerly welcoming the dawn of a new school year.

As per the education ministry's previously announced academic calendar, the first break of the academic year is scheduled between November 13 and 17.

Furthermore, Turkish students can anticipate receiving their first-term report cards on January 19. After a two-week semester break, schools will reopen on February 5, ensuring a continuous and structured learning environment.

As students embark on this exciting educational journey, educational institutions and authorities stand ready to provide guidance, support, and a nurturing learning environment throughout the academic year. (ILKHA)
