The ship, the "Lady Marel", flying the Panamanian flag, departed from the port of Odesa and arrived in Istanbul on July 8, 2023. The vessel is carrying 22,000 tons of sunflower seeds and is headed for France.

The Grain Corridor Agreement was signed in Istanbul on July 22, 2022. The agreement sets up a safe maritime corridor for the transportation of grain from Ukrainian ports to international markets.

The agreement has been monitored from the joint coordination center established in Istanbul in coordination with the United Nations.

The agreement has been credited with helping to ease the global food crisis. Since the agreement was signed, about 33 million tons of grain have been exported from Ukrainian ports.

The Turkish government has said that it is committed to continuing to support the agreement and to helping to ensure that Ukrainian grain reaches international markets.

The agreement has been welcomed by the international community. The United Nations has said that the agreement is "a major step forward in addressing the global food crisis." The European Union has also welcomed the agreement and has said that it is "a positive development".

The agreement is seen as a major success for Türkiye, which has played a key role in mediating between Ukraine and Russia. The agreement has also helped to boost Turkey's image as a reliable partner in the Black Sea region. (ILKHA)
