NATO set to launch largest-ever air exercise to test European conflict readiness

The exercise aims to assess the readiness of 25 nations, including the United States, Germany, and Türkiye, in the event of a potential conflict in Europe.

Authorities revealed that approximately 250 military aircraft will participate in the exercise, showcasing the joint strength of the participating nations. The maneuvers will primarily focus on defensive operations and will be conducted in German and European airspace from June 12 to 23.

Colonel Ersin Ozmen, a Turkish fighter pilot, confirmed Turkey's active participation in the exercise. He stated that the Turkish Air Force will contribute three F-16 jets and over 50 military personnel to the drills. Emphasizing the exercise's objective, he highlighted the importance of enhancing interoperability and cooperation among NATO allies.

German Air Force chief Lieutenant General Ingo Gerhartz expressed readiness for the exercise, assuring that all preparations have been successfully completed. He announced that forces from 25 nations stand ready to initiate the military exercise on Monday.

Throughout the duration of the exercise, participating aircraft from NATO allies and partner nations will be deployed at various air bases across Germany, ensuring a comprehensive and realistic training environment. The United States has notably deployed over 100 aircraft and 2,000 military personnel to Germany to actively engage in the exercise, demonstrating its commitment to collective defense within the alliance.
