EU chief von der Leyen to visit Kyiv to celebrate Europe Day
On Monday, a spokesperson for the European Commission announced that President Ursula von der Leyen will be visiting Kyiv on Tuesday to hold discussions with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky.
This visit will be von der Leyen's fifth to the Ukrainian capital since Russia's comprehensive invasion of the country in February of the previous year.
“Tomorrow, the president will be in Kiev Ukraine where she will meet president Vladimir Zelensky and reaffirm EU’s unwavering support towards the country,” spokesman Eric Mamer wrote on Twitter. reporters
“As you will, of course, have noticed, this visit will take place on Europe day. In this context, we warmly welcome the announcement by President Zelensky that the 9th of May will from now on also be celebrated as Europe date in Ukraine,” Mamer added. (ILKHA)
