Afghan foreign minister receives Russian ambassador in Kabul
The foreign minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Mawlavi Amir Khan Muttaqi met with the Russian Ambassador of Dmitry Zhirnov in Kabul.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed political, security, economic, and all-around cooperation between Afghanistan and Russia in detail, according to a statement by the ministry.
Muttaqi said that Afghanistan is interested in expanding its political and economic ties with Russia.
“There is any longer a security threat in Afghanistan,” said Muttaqi adding that there is no threat from Afghanistan to other countries.
For his part, the Russian ambassador stressed strengthening ties between the two countries and cooperation between government officials. (ILKHA)
