HÜDA PAR, which was exposed to a smear campaigns after announcing its support for Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the presidential election, had applied to the Istanbul 8th Criminal Judgeship of Peace to impose an access block on news slanderously targeting the party.

Examining the application of the party, the İstanbul 8th Penal Judgeship of Peace has ruled that the related news reported by some media outlets, including Birgün, euronews, T24, Odatv, TELE1, Medyascope and Yeniçağ, shall be blocked to access and deleted on the grounds that personal rights have been violated.

HÜDA PAR’s Human Rights and Legal Affairs Presidency welcomed the decision on its official social media account.

“After announcing its support for Mr. Erdoğan, our party has been exposed to a smear campaign by some media outlets. The Istanbul 8th Criminal Judgeship of Peace decided to block access to defamatory news targeting HÜDA PAR insubstantially and groundlessly,” it said.

On Saturday, HÜDA PAR Chairman Zekeriya Yapıcıoğlu announced that his party will support the incumbent president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Türkiye’s presidential election. (ILKHA)
