European Orphan Hand distributes food parcels to hundreds of people in Diyarbakır
European Orphan Hand (Avrupa Yetim Eli), an international help organization based in Mannheim, Germany, has provided food parcels to hundreds of earthquake-affected people in Türkiye’s southeastern Diyarbakır province.
The organization had launched a humanitarian aid campaign to reach earthquake-affected people with urgently needed food assistance following the deadly earthquakes that struck along the border between Türkiye and Syria on February 6.
European Orphan Eli provided food aid to families in need on the occasion of Lailat al-Baraa in Diyarbakir, one of the earthquake-stricken provinces in Türkiye.
“Today we are in Diyarbakir. We delivered the food parcels we prepared on the occasion of Lailat al-Baraa to the families who were affected by the earthquake. We would like to thank all the benefactors who contributed to the supply of these parcels,” Memduh Emek, the representative of European Orphan Hand in Türkiye, told Ilke News Agency.
“Unfortunately, the destruction caused by the earthquake is enormous. That's why help needs to come all the time. There is a suffering that probaly will last for months and years. We ask the benefactors not to forget these victims and to continue their support,” he added. (ILKHA)
