Hope Caravan continues to distribute three hot meals a day to earthquake victims
Nurettin Teymur, a board member of Hope Caravan Foundation (Umut Kervanı) in Batman, stated that they continue to distribute hot meals and various necessaries to the earthquake-affected people at a soup kitchen set up in Adıyaman.
Teymur said they will continue their efforts until Eid-ul Fitr, and called on benefactors to continue to send aid to the earthquake-stricken areas.
Temur also mentioned that the needs in the provinces affected by the earthquake centered in Kahramanmaraş have varied and increased, and they will strive together to heal the wounds of the earthquake victims.
"Since the first day of the earthquake, we have been trying to be with all our brothers and sisters as Hope Caravan Foundation (Umut Kervanı vakfı). We are trying to do our best. With the contributions of our donors, we are trying to increase these services and continue them. Let's not forget that the needs have not ended, and as human beings, our needs continue," Teymur said.
Underlining that the needs are changing day by day, Teymur went on to say: "We are providing hot meals for an average of 20,000 to 25,000 people daily. Today is the 26th day of the earthquake. With the help of our donors, we will spend Ramadan here by the grace of God. Needs are changing every day. On the first day, the needs were bread and water. We still partially have a need for bread and water, but we also need dry food. We need meat to make food. Our brothers and sisters who give sacrifice, donate, and pay zakat should not neglect this place for the sake of Allah."
"Put yourselves in the place of these brothers and sisters."
"We are making an effort to distribute these aids in a hygienic environment that we have created. It is not enough, but we will try to do better. There are brothers and sisters who have a need for underwear, and I hesitate to mention it, but it is a need. Put yourselves in the place of these brothers and sisters. They need to wash and they need infrastructure. Of course, the government has responsibilities, but we have obligations and needs towards our Muslim brothers and sisters in terms of brotherhood. Let's not neglect them either. May God be pleased with all the donors," Teymur concluded. (ILKHA)
