11 children killed in northwest Pakistan boat capsize
Eleven children were killed and six others injured after their boat capsized in the Tanda dam in Pakistan’s northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Sunday.
All the children who lost their lives in the incident were aged between seven and 12 years and were students at a nearby religious school.
25 students were on the boat when it capsized, according to local reports.
The injured have been taken to hospital, said Furqan Khan, the deputy commissioner of Kohat district in northern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The cause of the accident was not yet known.
The tragedy came on the same day when a passenger bus fell down a ravine in southern Pakistan killing more than 40 people. (ILKHA)
