Palestine fighters respond to Zionist attacks with great resistance
Palestinian fighters are responding to the attacks of the Zionist occupation forces with great resistance, not with submission, said Nawwaf Takruri, the head of the Association of Palestinian Scholars Abroad.
Takruri spoke to Ilke New Agency regarding the ongoing Palestinian resistance against Zionist occupation and the support for Palestine cause during the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
“Palestinians refuse to remain silent in the face of Zionist brutality”
“Our camps and our people are attacked every day, but our people are taking the path of resistance, not surrender. Because our people refuse to remain silent in the face of humiliation, oppression, and surrender to Zionism,” Tekruri said.
Noting that the zionist occupation regime has been taking steps to Judaize Jerusalem, especially Al Aqsa Mosque, Tekruri said: “Al Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem are the red line for the Islamic Ummah, especially the Palestinian people. Zionist occupation regime thought that it had an opportunity through normalization with some failed regimes to make Muslims forget Palestinian people, but, thank God, it now faces fierce resistance.”
“Palestine had a presence in the hearts of thousands of fans in Qatar during the FIFA World Cup”
“The Zionist regime thought that football took the youth away from the Palestinian cause, from everything, and from every cause, but the opposite turned out to be. The Palestinian cause exists even in Muslim football. Although the Palestine football team did not qualify for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the Palestinians had more than one team playing in their name. They had an overwhelming presence in the hearts of the Muslim teams and hundreds of thousands of Muslim and foreign fans. Even the streets of Qatar were decorated with the Palestinian flag. It confirmed to us all that Palestine is still the issue beating at the very heart of the Islamic World. Of course, this support boosted the morale of the Palestinian people and assured them that the Islamic world did not abandon them.”
Calling on the leaders of Islamic countries to support Palestinian people in their fight against the zionist occupation, Tekruri went on to say: “The leaders of Islamic countries should give sufficient support to Palestinian people so that they can defend themselves. Because the resistance of the Palestinian people against the zionist regime is not only for Palestine but for the sanctity of the whole Ummah."
The Association of Palestinian Scholars Abroad was established in 2009 in Lebanon, Beirut. In February 2009 a conference was held in Beirut with the participation of hundreds of Palestinian scholars. At the end of the conference, it was decided to establish a delegation that would bring together non-Palestinian scholars. The two-day conference focused on the Palestinian issue and the role of Palestinian scholars.
Turkey was elected as headquarters of the Delegation to Palestine because of the ease for entry and exit. (ILKHA)
