Turkish President meets with his Indonesian counterpart
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is in Bali for the 17th G20 Heads of State and Government Summit, met with President Joko Widodo of Indonesia.
The two leaders made brief statements to the press prior to their bilateral meeting at the Apurva Kempinski, the main venue for the G20 summit.
Erdoğan expressed his gratitude to his Indonesian counterpart for the hospitality shown towards himself and his delegation, the Turkish presidency said in a statement.
Congratulating Indonesia on its successful G20 term presidency, Erdoğan voiced his pleasure that Indonesia would take over MIKTA term presidency from Türkiye next April.
Wishing success to Indonesia during its 2023 ASEAN term presidency, Erdoğan said: “I expect your support for our dialogue partnership goal.”
Erdoğan added: “The High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council mechanism, which we have established jointly, constitutes a historic step in terms of our bilateral relations.” (ILKHA)
