Zionist regime kidnaps 5,300 Palestinians since beginning of 2022
Zionist occupation forces have detained 5,300 Palestinian citizens, including 111 women and 260 children, since the beginning of 2022, the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) reported.
“The highest number of detention orders was recorded in occupied East Jerusalem and reached 2,353 detainees, while the highest rate was recorded in April and reached 1,228 detention orders,” the PPS said in a press statement on Monday.
The statement added that 1,610 of the detainees were held under administrative detention.
The PPS pointed out that the arrest campaigns during the israeli raids into the Palestinian cities and refugee camps have been accompanied by field executions of Palestinian youths, making the number of field executions this year the highest compared to the past few years.
It added that vandalizing property of Palestinians and causing material loss during the israeli raids into Palestinian detainees’ homes is considered higher than in previous years.
The highest number of administrative detention orders in 2022 was 272 orders issued last August, bringing the total number of Palestinian administrative detainees until the end of August to around 800. (ILKHA)
