At least 18 dead in Pakistan bus fire
At least 18 Pakistanis, including 12 children, were killed when a bus carrying flood victims caught fire on Wednesday late at night.
The accident took place near Nooriabad in Sindh’s Jamshoro district, when the bus carrying the flood victims caught fire, leaving at least 18 people dead.
The officials said that the passengers were flood victims who had been settled in Karachi after fleeing one of the worst flood-hit areas.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, offered his condolences to the bereaved families and assured an investigation into the matter.
“Deeply saddened by the loss of precious lives in the bus fire incident on the Super Highway near Nooriabad. We pray to Allah Almighty to grant the people who died in this accident a place in His mercy, grant patience to the bereaved families and speedy recovery to the injured,” Sharif said in a statement on Twitter.
