Pakistan: Number of dengue fever cases rises after deadly floods
The number of dengue fever cases has increased after the deadly floods triggered by heavy monsoon rains hit Pakistan.
“A total of 476 more people were tested positive for the disease in the northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, bringing the number of active cases in the province to 2,032,” the provincial health department said, noting that the total number of cases this year has reached 8,961.
The eastern Punjab province reported 389 new cases, the provincial health authorities said on Saturday. The total number of dengue cases in Punjab this year has now gone up to 6,766.
On the other hand, the number of cases in Punjab increased by 389 to 6,766. In the southern state of Sindh, 329 new cases were detected. (ILKHA)
