Mogadishu police commander killed in explosion
The commander of the Mogadishu Police Force was killed in an explosion targeting his car, Somali government sources said in a statement on Friday.
Brigadier General Farhan Mohamud Adan, known as Farhan Qarole, was killed in an explosion in Balcad district, 30 km north of Mogadishu, according to the statement.
The attack happened during security operations targeting the Basra area in Middle Shabelle, officials reported.
Farhan Mohamud Adan was the ex-commander of the Haramacad forces and took over as the Banadir regional police chief from Sadak Omar Hassan in April 2021. (ILKHA)
