The Movement held the zionist regime responsible for the repercussions of the continuous excavations in the Al-Buraq Wall and the Umayyad palaces areas in Jerusalem, labeling the excavations as an attempt to obliterate the Islamic and historical landmarks of Jerusalem. 

It called on the League of Arab States, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan which is supervising the affairs of the Al-Aqsa Mosque to urgently act to stop the malicious colonial schemes in order to protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem. 

For its part, the Jerusalem Islamic Waqf Council on Thursday warned of the excavations carried out by the israel Antiquities Authority and the Elad Association in the southern and western areas of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Palestinian researchers had revealed new details about cracks in the western area of the Al-Aqsa Mosque near the Islamic Museum and the gate of al-Magharaba adjacent to the Al-Buraq Wall due to the excavations in the Umayyad palaces. (ILKHA)
