Three FETO linked suspects were caught while trying to illegally enter Greece, the Turkish Defense Ministry said on Thursday.
“Our border Eagles serving in the Edirne province caught 3 individuals trying to cross into Greece illegally. As a result of the investigation, it was determined that the captured persons are the members of the FETO terrorist organization,” the Ministry tweeted.
Hudutlarımızda yasa dışı geçişlere karşı mücadelemiz sürüyor. Edirne’de görev yapan Hudut Kartallarımız, ülkemizden Yunanistan’a yasa dışı yollarla geçmeye çalışan 3 kişiyi yakaladı. Yakalanan şahısların FETÖ terör örgütü mensubu olduğu belirlendi. pic.twitter.com/3sviOMB4QA
Since May 2016, Turkey has classified the FETO organization as a terrorist organization under the assigned names Fethullahist Terrorist Organization and Parallel State Structure.
After the failed coup attempt in 2016, the government of Turkey blamed the group for the coup and authorities have arrested thousands of soldiers and judges who have links to the organization. (ILKHA)
