5 Kurdish troops killed, 4 injured in ISIS attack in northern Iraq
Five Kurdish soldiers were killed, and four others were injured in the double attack on the Peshmerga forces in Garmyan late night Saturday.
“Unfortunately, we have four injured Peshmerga in a cowardly attack today by ISIS terrorists on a guard post of the fifth infantry Peshmerga brigade in Kalan close to kolajo sector," the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs initially said in a statement on Twitter.
“Our forces responded heavily, and everything is under control now," the Ministry added.
An improvised explosive device (IED) hit a Peshmerga convoy that went to help the force following the attack, local reports said. (ILKHA)
