“Turkey is one of the countries with the most comprehensive and effective legislation addressing violence against women,” Erdoğan said. “In July, we released the 4th National Action Plan on Combating Violence against Women and determined five key objectives, 28 strategies, and 227 actions.”

Emphasizing that violence against women, which is a violation of human rights, is, unfortunately, a global issue, Erdoğan said: “I hope that November 25, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women will contribute to the complete eradication of this problem, which our faith, civilization, and values oppose.”

Erdoğan informed that they released the 4th National Action Plan on Combating Violence against Women last July, and they determined five key objectives, 28 strategies, and 227 actions. Stating that all necessary legislative and administrative measures would be taken in response to the changing conditions and emerging demands, Erdoğan noted the following:

“My august nation… We must never forget that combating violence against women is also a struggle to safeguard the rights, law, and honor of our mothers, wives, and daughters. With the belief, effort, and agreement of all parties, this problem may be eradicated.

We have stood by women in their struggle for rights in all areas, and we will continue to do so in the future. Hopefully, we will completely eradicate violence against women by strengthening our humanitarian and moral values. We are determined.” (ILKHA)
