Iran reports 371 new deaths from coronavirus in the past 24 hours
After 13,321 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 962,070 in the country, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Monday.
371 more people have died of coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 48,246.
There are at least 5,852 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 668,151 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 6,125,348 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,467,273 with 63,186,117 cases and more than 43,690,387 recoveries. (ILKHA)
