Iran reports 312 new deaths from coronavirus in the past 24 hours
After 5,616 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 545,286 in the country, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Wednesday.
312 more people have died of coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 31,346.
There are at least 4,861 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 438,709 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 4,599,554 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,131,024 with 41,122,100 cases and more than 30,671,942 recoveries. (ILKHA)
