2 army helicopters collide in Afghanistan: 9 dead
Nine Afghani soldiers were killed after two army helicopters collided in midair in Helmand province in southern Afghanistan Tuesday night, the country’s Defense Ministry announced on Wednesday.
“Two ANA Mil Mi-17 helicopters crashed due to technical issues while they were taking off in Nawa district of Helmand province, around 01:15 AM last night. Unfortunately, 9 individuals aboard were martyred in the crash,” the Ministry said.
Ministry of Defense is investigating the incident, according to the statement. (ILKHA)
