Erdoğan holds phone conversation with Azerbaijani President Aliyev
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, the presidency’s Directorate of Communications announced in a statement on Tuesday.
During the conversation, Erdoğan congratulated the Azerbaijani President Aliyev and the Azerbaijani people on the 102nd anniversary of the liberation of Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, from the Armenian and Bolshevik occupation.
Stating that the Islamic Army of the Caucasus, under the command of Nuri Pasha, who came to the aid of brother Azerbaijan from Anatolia 102 years ago, has achieved a historic victory shoulder to shoulder with the National Army of Azerbaijan, Erdoğan commemorated all the martyrs and heroes of the glorious fight with mercy and respect.
Erdoğan underlined that the unity, fraternity and solidarity put forth by Turkey and Azerbaijan in the face of threats and attacks against their existence and vital interests have served as an example and message to the whole world, as seen in the liberation of Baku.
Erdoğan reiterated the resolution to deepen the relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan and strengthen their cooperation in every field with the motto “two states, one nation” and said that Turkey would always stand in solidarity with Azerbaijan.
Erdoğan indicated that Turkey was as enthusiastic and proud as Azerbaijan in the anniversary of the liberation of Baku and conveyed his regards to the friendly Azerbaijani people. (ILKHA)
