The Hope Caravan’s Siirt Branch provided food and household goods a Syrian family and repaired their house ahead of the Eid al-Adha.
The Hope Caravan Foundation, which acts with the mission of delivering the humanitarian aid to those who are persecuted or otherwise in need, regardless of their religion, language, race or sect, continues its charitable works in southeastern Turkey.
Bedri Yıldırım stated that despite being neighbor in the same apartment for 4 years with the family residing in the city center of Siirt province, he learned 5 days ago that the Syrian family was in need of help. After learning about their situation, he said that he could not sleep for 5 days and that he reached Hope Caravan (Umut Kervanı) while he was looking for how to help them.
Expressing that Hope Caravan (Umut Kervanı) meets most needs of the Syrian family, Yıldırım said:
“We have been in the same apartment with the Syrian family for about 4 years. Syrian family came to visit my wife frequently because my wife underwent brain surgery. When the Syrian family told my mother 5 days ago about the financial difficulties they had, my mother also told me, so we became aware of the situation. When I found out that their situation was very bad, I could not go to bed until the morning, searched the internet for organizations that could help in Siirt and reached the Hope Caravan (Umut Kervanı). Thanks to them, they immediately came as a team, repaired and painted the house, provided carpets, washing machine, clothes and food aid. The house was previously unable to sit. ”
"The situation of the Syrian family was in a really desperate"
Expressing that they met all the needs of the Syrian family, Ramazan Tokdemir, The Hope Caravan’s Siirt Branch, said that they witnessed that the family was in a very desperate situation.
Tokdemir also said: "As Siirt Hope Caravan (Umut Kervanı), we became aware of the situation of the Syrian family thanks to its neighbor. Our brother Yıldırım called us and explained their situation. We witnessed that they were in a really desperate situation when we came and looked at the house. They had neither a carpet nor a proper goods in the house. So we tried to detect the needs of the family. They did not have a washing machine and dishwasher. The refrigerator was out of order. The house needed repair and the house was really in a bad situation. We explained the situation to our charitable brothers. One of our brothers bought paint materials, another of our brothers said that he would do the paint. A charitable bought the washing machine, and we brought the carpet and other materials. For now their needs have been met.”
Pointing out that there are many poor families in Siirt, Tokdemir called on philanthropists:
“We have a call to our charitable brothers and sisters, the need for this family has been met for now, but the family has only 1000 TL income and they pay 600 TL rent. If philanthropists with opportunities support us, we will continue to support this family. There are many families with poor financial means in Siirt, the number of applicants is quite high and we cannot reach because we have limited opportunities. Recently, we reached an orphan family looking for us, the father of the children passed away, and their mother abandoned them and married another, and orphans’ uncle is looking after them. And these kids don't have any income. We helped them and witnessed their joy. With the permission of Allah, we will help them with clothing on this holiday. ” (ILKHA)
