Iran reports 154 new deaths from coronavirus in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 154 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 11,260, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Friday.
After 2,566 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 235,429 in the country.
There are at least 3,123 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, 196,446 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 1,744,958 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
She described the condition in the provinces of Kordestan, Khuzestan, West Azarbaijan, Kermanshah, and Hormozgan as a red status, adding that the condition in provinces of Bushehr, Ilam, East Azarbaijan, and Khorasan Razavi is becoming alarming.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 524,748 with 11,016,328 cases and more than 6,172,791 recoveries. (ILKHA)
