US’ arrogant nature proven to the entire world, Iranian Interior Ministry says
Iranian Minister of interior Abdorreza Rahmani-Fazli said that the arrogant conduct of the US was proved to everyone.
“Trump showed that he is not loyal to any commitments to international organizations and is in trouble with not only Iran but also with China and Russia, and even draws problems even to his own country,” Rahmani-Fazli said during a meeting with the officials of Iran’s northern Mazandaran Province.
He added that it has been proved for all countries that the current US president is not trustable.
“Trump didn’t only withdraw from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), but also he pulled the US out of some other international commitments,” he reminded.
He also stressed that Iran would not negotiate with the US until Washington puts aside its arrogant behavior and recognizes the independence of Iran.
He also said that there is consensus about the JCPOA in Iran and that the deal brought about good investment into the country.
The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, which is known commonly as the Iran nuclear deal or Iran deal, is an agreement on the Iranian nuclear program reached in Vienna on July 14, 2015, between Iran and the P5+1 (the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council—China, France, Russia, United Kingdom, United States—plus Germany) together with the European Union.
On 8 May 2018 the United States officially withdrew from the agreement after Trump signed a Presidential Memorandum ordering the reinstatement of harsher sanctions.
In his May 8 speech Trump called the Iran deal “horrible” and said the United States would “work with our allies to find a real, comprehensive, and lasting solution” to prevent Iran from developing nuclear arms.
The IAEA has continued to assess that Iran has been in compliance with JCPOA and that it had “no credible indications of activities in Iran relevant to the development of a nuclear explosive device after 2009”.
Meanwhile, other parties to the deal stated that they will work to preserve the deal even after the US withdrawal. (ILKHA)
